Real men…real discipleship
On January 19, our winter luncheon series will begin. We have a great lineup of speakers. We will host these luncheons at Christ Presbyterian Church (8300 Katy Freeway) on Thursdays January 19 & 26, February 2 & 9.
John Hopper has discussed questions about God and life with Muslim clerics in Uzbekistan, Buddhist monks in Canada, slum-dwellers in Guatemala and tennis professionals at Wimbledon. Now, he serves as Houston Area Director for Search Ministries, a nationwide organization focused on creating opportunities for stimulating, sensitive and respectful conversations for those wrestling with life’s big questions.
This series will address the hard questions that you might have about God. Many of us have difficulty understanding God. We have asked our speakers to consider one question which they will address. In addition, we will be selling copies of the book, Questioning God by John Hopper. This book presents many answers that will help you better understand the Christian faith. You may have friends that you would like to bring in order to help them with their grasp of God is doing in this world and in Jesus Christ. All four of these speakers have much to communicate to us concerning our beliefs.

Our lunch cost is $15. We are asking folks to cover that cost if possible. Scholarships are readily and willingly available.

Men's Life Night is an unscripted gathering of men talking about spicy issues over hot wings. At the intersection of culture and theology we gather to discuss some hot-button issue in a safe and caring environment.

happen to good people?
What do the scriptures say? What does modern thought say? What do YOU say when horrible things happen in your life or throughout the world?
Do you ask Why or Who?

This fall, for five weeks starting on 9/14 and concluding on 10/12, Jim Stern will lead the Men of Chapelwood in a study about personal discipleship.
For this study, dinner will be offered for $15 per person and available by reservation starting at 7:00 P.M.

For over 20 years I have been making disciples of Jesus – one person, one step, one issue at a time. Through many failures, experiments, and victories, I have learned vital truths needed to effectively love and train God’s people to experience personal freedom and multiply in others. I have a Master’s Degree in Divinity w/Biblical Languages and have pastored since 1999. My most significant ministry joy is co-laboring in the Spirit to see our Father’s children set free in clarity and confidence to go and make disciples of others.
