Equipping FIND members and small groups with discipleship-focused resources that support transformation through Jesus Christ in the Houston area. By curating and promoting trusted content such as the FIND Bookshelf, surveying the Discipleship Council to identify resources proven across multiple groups, and connecting men with respected speakers and mentors, the committee strengthens spiritual growth, fellowship, and disciple-making throughout FIND. These efforts include developing recurring educational events, speaker series, and creative learning opportunities that build on existing resources while supporting FIND leaders and Shepherds in their ministry.

Education Committee Chair

Dan is a member of the L.I.F.E. group, husband to Dianne, and father to Dan and Sarah. He is a UT alum and attends Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. 

FIND Bookshelf

A shared collection of books, videos, and studies that have been used and recommended by FIND small groups based on their impact in discipleship. The Bookshelf exists to help groups discover trusted resources that encourage spiritual growth and meaningful discussion.

The Bible is not included in this list. As the living Word of God and the foundation of our faith, it stands alone above all other resources.

Educational Events & Speaker Series

The Education Committee coordinates educational events that provide discipleship insight, foster fellowship, and create opportunities for outreach within the Houston community. These events are often planned in collaboration with the Social Committee and focus on connecting FIND members with trusted teachers, authors, and mentors.

Planned efforts include:

  • Speaker events featuring external leaders and FIND members
  • Potential panel discussions held on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings
  • Select film screenings that support discipleship and faith formation

Supporting FIND Leaders & Shepherds

The Education Committee supports FIND Shepherds and leaders by helping staff and support the FIND information table at Toolbox West monthly luncheons at Lakeside Country Club. This presence helps introduce FIND to men in the Houston area who are exploring discipleship and fellowship.
