God Provided Silver Linings in 2020
2020 is finally behind us. What a ride! Last year had ups and downs, and despite all the challenges, there were plenty of victories. The tribulations made us realize just how dependent we are on our Father. We realized COVID does not discriminate, wonderful people can be found across political persuasions, and technology can eliminate isolation and allow fellowship.
God provided plenty of silver linings. Virtual meetings contributed to a peak in 2020 small group attendance. Churches learned new ways to reach out to families in their homes. Families spent more time together. Kids were home longer with extended summer and holiday breaks.
FinD’s Dreams of the Future in 2021
For many, with a new year comes dreams of the future. FinD is no different. FinD is prayerfully deliberating its vision for the future. Over the last five years, the ministry has expanded by leaps and bounds horizontally with over 200 men, in 23 groups, representing 32 churches in Houston. So, the blessing of horizontal growth has been robust. The Holy Spirit has been very clear that existing and future groups also need vertical growth. How do we come alongside existing and future groups and foster deep transformation in Jesus Christ? What are we doing to encourage and strengthen these disciples and foster a passion to follow the Great Commission?
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” ~ Matthew 28: 19-20 (ESV).
With full support from the Board of Directors and the Discipleship Council, FinD remains firmly dedicated to creating fellowship, the foundation upon which this ministry has been built. Men gathering once a week to dive into scripture, prayer and life application is vital. We will continue to support this fellowship and strive to develop new weekly groups.
The new goal in 2021 and beyond is to create an additional platform that trains disciples to have confidence and clarity to create and teach new disciples … multi-generational discipleship. God has clearly provided tremendous resources to get us where we are today.
We ask for your prayers as we implement this new vision of another layer of growth. As with most changes, implementation it tough. It takes time, patience, and persistence. We depend on your prayers, support, and contributions to implement God’s vision for FinD and continue the pursuit of our mission…
“Transforming men through Jesus Christ in authentic, weekly fellowship in discipleship.”
